First Painted Goblin Pictures Pop Up For Oathmark
November 10, 2017 by brennon
North Star and Osprey Games' Oathmark welcomes some new previews this week with a reveal of some painted Goblins based on their plastic kit which is coming soon.
The current selection of images show off a range of the different weapon types that will be available to the Goblins and how they come together as a ranked force on the tabletop.
Of course above you have spears and axes being shown off but there are also plenty of smaller hand weapons on offer as well as seen on the plastic sprue.
The Goblins also get access to bows which is neat. They are short ones that you'd imagine are perfect for skirmishing raiding forces - which always seems to fit the model of Goblins on the battlefield.
I like that they actually painted these Goblins with red bows, a little call back to those classic Warhammer Fantasy and Oldhammer models from the 80s and 90s where everyone apparently painted their bows red!
What do you think of the Goblins after a closer look at the final models?

They look more and more like they’d mix well with the old WGF Orcs…which I wish were still around
Oh, they are still around here:

You can get a lot of the old WGF models from Warlords except the ww2 stuff (which you can get from Dreamforge for WGF prices), the shocktroopers (sad but true). and, to my knowledge, the ancients which is kind of a shame since WGF had wider range of true plastic ancients than warlords (who just take their celt set and add metal bits whenever they want to make a new “enemy of rome” set)
Love the Dwarves and the metal test sculpt Goblin but not so sure about the plastics. The poses seem a little too stiff and the horned helmets look a bit tacky to me!
Also love their dwarves. They’re one of the few companies out there that doesn’t make knuckle draggers. Wish I’d seen these sooner. Oh well, can always flog the GW crap on EBay.
Like these a lot, not sure what I’d use them for but I am tempted. The dark skin with the red looks odd.
My thoughts exactly. They remind me of Citadel goblins from the 80s. Not identical but a similar feel. My nostalgia muscles are going nuts over these.
Yup, totally Old School. I just pee’d a little.
They really look alot like the bastard love children of Harlequin and Grenadier raised by Mantic in the old school.
Which is not necessarily a bad thing, though.
I would have done the skin in a lighter blue grey.. paintjob too dark for me
I’d like to see that as well! 🙂
Outstanding !!!!
Yup, I’ll take many of these. So tired of the cartoony goblin trope.
