Otokodate Is The Clan Of The Month For Zenit’s Kensei!
March 30, 2015 by brennon
Zenit Miniatures have put together another Clan set for their Samurai wargame Kensei. This time around the clan in question is the Otokodate Clan and you can check out both the full set and some of the heroes close up below...
The army has a similar make up to the rest of the armies for Kensei in that it has a unit of Ashigaru followed by some more specialised looking units, in this case some more katana armed soldiers and some extra warriors with guns too.
Take a closer look at some of the models from Clan Otokodate...
One of the things I like about this clan is their colour scheme. Although of course you could paint them anyway you like the dark yellow contrasting with the almost maroon-like red is an interesting match-up and it makes for a very cool looking army.
The main hero (the first model above) is a great sculpt, heroically posed as if he is leading his solders into battle with an extra bit of 'anime' flair. You could almost imagine the wind whipping up around him as he commands his troops forward.
What do you think of the army?

Those are really good.
Think zenits samurai and monsters look vastly superiour to that other samurai game that seems to get alot more coverage.
You mean Bushido?
And yeah, Zenit’s Kensei minis are pretty awesome. 🙂 I find that even the fantasy creatures have a sense of realism to them. If you get what I mean.
yeah they look true to ancient art and real at the same time, not at all cartoonish 🙂 love em
Looks very nice and is an historical period/setting I find fascinating too.
