Otherworld’s Clay Golem Takes Form
October 12, 2014 by dracs
Otherworld Miniatures continue to form life as they work on their next golem, this time forming it out of clay.
Otherworld have come up with a fantastic design for their take on this ancient creature of Jewish folklore, being an ill-proportioned monster that looks entirely implacable.
I have to admit, when I first saw their Frankenstein-style flesh golem, I expected Otherworld's clay golem to be in the style of the classic German film Der Golem.
I'm relieved they decided to go with something more menacing, as while Der Golem is considered a classic, that golem is hardly imposing by today's standards. If anything, I think that Otherworld's golem reminds me of a rather more infamous black and white horror film.
I'm not the only one who sees this, right?
What are your thoughts on Otherworld's Clay Golem?
Yup, looks like some ‘Plan 9’ influence, but I think they’re still following the old 1st Edition AD&D Monster Manuals, if I’m not mistaken.
