Osprey Games Travels To the New World In The Silver Bayonet: Canada
March 28, 2023 by avernos
The Silver Bayonet is getting two expansions this year from Osprey Games, previously we had the announcement of an encounter in The Carpathians: Castle Fier and later this year the conflict expands across the Atlantic for adventures in Canada!
The Silver Bayonet: Canada // Osprey Games
The new expansion is written by Ash Barker and will explore the Great White North during the War of 1812. As the United States and Britain clash for territory the Harvestment pursue their own war on humanity, feasting on the rage, suffering and terror of mortals. In the face of this growing threat, as in Europe, bands of brave hunters are formed from the military and local populace to take the fight to the sinister Harvestmen and their minions.
We don't know much about the contents of the book so far beyond its setting but we do know that it offers new scenarios, solo and cooperative as well as competitive; rules for recruiting US units; and creatures and challenges drawn from Canadian history and folklore.
I'm fascinated to find out what happens when Joe allows someone else to play in the world he has created, and also what mythical creatures there are in store in the book that I haven't heard of to date. I do know that Ash tapped up Crucible Crush for suitable figures for playtesting so I'm hoping that a full band of First Nations.
What do you make of the news from the North?

Ooh that’s interesting to look over for player’s.
I might not jump into this but I love the idea, and that Ash is getting involved. Zombie Mooses anyone?
They missed a trick not calling it Silver B-eh-onet.
That’s a great idea I wonder if they head to India next or maybe a Egyptian story
If they can find someway to use the flying moose figure from alternative armies, that would be great:

Or the trolls riding on mooses (or not) woukd be cool:

Or even just some of the native races from their frontear range:

And yes, I do like their models, how did you guess ?
so not just a clever name then? 😉
I think there may very well be an easy entry using the story from Ginger Snaps series of film. It’s a quick way to involve the Bad Squiddo lady werewolves.
Ohh, this is very interesting. I wanted some US units and the Native American mythology has a number of really fascinating creatures that would work great for this.
There was a post from Northstar this morning and it looks at the moment like it’s only changing location rather than era. Which, if true, is a bit of a shame because I think going back 50 years to the 7 years war (French and Indian War) would be more interesting for action in Canadas (and the Americas)
