Osprey Go Fantastical With Cover For Dragon Rampant
August 4, 2015 by brennon
In some more Osprey Publishing news they have released the cover image for their Fantasy battle game, Dragon Rampant. This game will be based on the Lion Rampant system but with more focus on additional magical and fantastical elements...
The game will be out towards the tail end of this year and it already has a fair few people hyped. Lion Rampant went down very well and it was already being modded to deal with Fantasy games so it's no surprise they went down this route.
Will you be getting this?

Lion Rampant is an excellent game, especially for introducing new players to historical gaming in that period. I look forward to getting this one too!
If this is as good as Lion Rampant then it’s going to be a winner
I never thought it’d be Osprey, but whoever’s in charge and giving the go-ahead for this glut of gamebooks there is striking gold at every turn. If they ever decide to start being less coy and release box sets or their own mini themselves then I see a particularly bright future outside of their usual historical source books.
(Frostgrave is awesome)
I don’t think Osprey will ever produce figures. On the historical side of things there are too many established companies. And historical boards would be full of arguments for months over what scale the figures should be
That’s a good cover.
I’m definitely picking this up – even if just for a read.
My sentiments exactly. Been looking for a good fantasy ruleset (that isn’t Kings of War) and maybe this will be it. Frostgrave looks good but not too fond of every warband being led by a wizard.
