A Band Of Ogre Heroes Hit The Tabletop From TTCombat
December 10, 2019 by brennon
If you're looking to add to your system-agnostic Ogre army then you'll want to check out the three new miniatures that were released by TTCombat over the past few days. With Kings Of War 3rd Edition in the mix maybe they'll be showing up there!
Leading from the front we have the Ogre Butcher with his massive keg of ale in hand and a brutal cleaver at the ready. You could imagine him bellowing out his orders to others on the battlefield, asking his big burly brothers and sisters to bring him bodies that he can throw into the pot as they work on some foul type of magic.
Someone who brings back the biggest kill could well be the Ogre Huntress!
Armed with her crossbow which is probably more like an arbalest to regular folk she has a grim look on her face. I love the idea that she's calling out a little bit of a challenge to someone, sticking up the 'middle finger' to her quarry.
Last but not least we have the magic-using Ogre Firebreather. This fellow has had a hot curry and is making use of it! I reckon with a darker paint scheme and then a little bit of source lighting here and there you'd have a brilliant spellcaster for your force.
All three of these characters are a little bit more comical in their appearance which means they might not match the likes of the Ogors in Age Of Sigmar but they would be a perfectly good set of models for using across the board in all sorts of games.
What do you make of the three models?

They look great and full of character.
They look better for RPG than skirmish… like the trolls in the Hobbit!
I’d still use them all for my KoW ogres army. Although, like the GW ogors or Reapers assorted ogres, these are also less buff than Mantic’s line of ogres. At least, these three are standing straight-legged as opposed to GW’s semi-squatting ogors (ala John Leguizamo’s character in Spawn). The above butcher might make a suitable alternative Grokagamok with a more imposing axe head swap. And the Firebreather might become is named shaman buddy. It’s nice to see the “fairer” sex represented as well. With ATTITUDE. But why are most ogres sculpted with such tiny feet?
Great models, maybe I can fit one of them into my 9th Age Ogre army! Although they are a bit cartoony, but with another paintjob they’ll do fine I guess
