North Star’s Frostgrave Female Soldiers & Characters Now Available
December 6, 2018 by brennon
North Star has now released their range of Female characters for use in Frostgrave by Osprey Games. Leading the way we have the new Frostgrave Soldiers II plastic set which comes packed with options.
Whilst the temptation is to probably build yourself an all-female warband (which is awesome of course) I think it would be great to mix and match them with the male figures already out there to create a diverse set of warriors who are heading off into these magical ruins.
As with the other sets in their plastic range as well as providing you with different heads and bodies, there's also plenty of weapon and accessory options too. There's no reason you HAVE to use these miniatures for just Frostgrave though as they'd make a great regiment of soldiers in larger games AND even characters in Rangers Of Shadow Deep too.
Dramatis Personae
As well as the plastic set there's also a range of metal figures which can supplement your force. You could either use one of them as your martial leader of a Frostgrave warband or as hired swords who are going to be following you into the ruins...as long as you have the coin to pay them.
I love the warrior women in the middle with those mighty swords and axes. There's effectively a good female match for most of the existing male figures so if you fancy changing things up you've got lots of different options now.
As well as being a great step in the right direction for Frostgrave to be more inclusive it also just provides a more realistic look at who might be going off on an adventure!
What do you think?

Wow, the plastic miniatures are lovely! Realistic looking female warriors! I might get this box…
Great figure’s to game with an they could be good as armed civilians gang’s for other games.
I don’t need a box but a sprue wouldn’t go a miss.
Those look very nice.
Sweet! That baba apothecary is the bomb! 😀
I just got the Wizards from the most recent Nickstarter. It’s one of those things where the moldmaker and caster don’t usually get the kudos they deserve. I would say (although they are from new molds) that these have been some of the nicest casts I’ve ever received. Not a mold line to be seen (and some very clever choices made when making the cuts for a multipart mini). The Fatecaster mini has some of the most clever use of cuts and the sculpt so that it REALLY does look like the dice or floating in his hand. …very nice… Read more »
Those are some truly ugly women… sorry, but had to be said.
Hasslefree do some of the nicest female miniatures. Kev is one of the best female sculptors in the hobby.
