North Star Preview The Silver Bayonet Range For November
August 18, 2021 by brennon
North Star Military Figures is once again working with Osprey Games to provide a collection of 28mm metal miniatures for one of their games. The Silver Bayonet from Joseph A. McCullough is coming this November, dropping you into a dark and twisted version of the Napoleonic period.

This collection then ties both the Historical with the Pulpy Horror of the game. You'll be assembling warbands of soldiers and monster hunters led by mystics, occultists and perhaps even a few supernatural creatures. Imagine something akin to Brotherhood Of The Wolf and you're probably on the right page.

What's nice about this range is that it will allow you to bring together an existing collection of plastic and metal miniatures from the Historical genre and then use them in something a little different from the norm. With it being a skirmish game, the number of figures you'll need should be pretty small too. This means you can dive in and customise your warband to your heart's content.

What I particularly like is that this is going to probably mix together the militaristic with the everyday. You'll find villagers, tradesfolk, priests and wise-folk banding together with soldiers to take on the horrors in the shadows. The smoke-filled battlefields of the Napoleonic war are nothing compared to what awaits in the forests!
I would reckon that North Star Military Figures are going to be putting together bundles including their new metal characters as well as options from across their collection. So, you've got plenty of fun options when it comes to building your warbands!
Are you going to be playing The Silver Bayonet when it releases in November?

After comments on an earlier Silver Bayonet article I read 1812 (I forget the author). It was a bit slow but I enjoyed Napoleonic pulp. At some point I’d like to see these (rather splendid) minis next to Perry, Front Rank, etc.
Time to return to the Sharp Practice Russian project I guess.
I have literally just started a project about starting to build a warband for the Silver Bayonet (despite not knowing that much about the game!). There’s some nice looking models there that might compliment what I’m starting to put together…
Hi Dudley de it’s the pirate life of me.
Fab looking game figures.
Am really looking forward to this. The minis look fun and will be good to have an excuse to paint a variety of napoleonics. Am going to see if I can put a Prussian team together as well as considering these minis.
This will be the first McCullough game I am going to pass on. The Stargrave expansion kicks off next week. I am also heavy into 5 Parsecs from Home and 5 Leagues from the Borderland 3e hits in about a month.
Add to that, I own zero historical figures so not interested. That said, I hope he finds some new fans for this game so Joe can crank out some good new ideas in the future.
I keep threatening to get into Napoleonics, this and the likes of Sharp Practice could well be my way in…
I’m interested in this one for sure. I loved Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell when it was on the telly and would happily play a game or three in that world.
