North Star Preview The First Daring Silver Bayonet Wave
October 12, 2021 by brennon
As well as adventuring through Fantasy and Sci-Fi, North Star are also going to be diving into some Napoleonic Horror soon with Osprey Games and The Silver Bayonet. The first wave of metal miniatures are going to be available for those wanting to face down the horrors in the darkness.
Silver Bayonet Wave #1 // North Star Military Figures
There is a nice mixture of different miniatures in the collection already. There are loads of unique sculpts representing soldiers from Britain, France, Austria, Spain and more. You've also got loads of specialists and occultists who add that level of mysticism and weirdness to The Silver Bayonet.
I really like what we're seeing here as we have plenty of interesting Historical miniatures which have been given that little something different here and there. I love the addition of loads of crucifixes for example as these soldiers cross their fingers and hope that will save them from the shadows.
We've been able to have a peek at the book and it seems like another fun skirmishers from McCullough. The game feels a little more individualistic than the likes of Stargrave or Frostgrave and sits more alongside the likes of Rangers Of Shadow Deep in terms of the way the scenarios play out. It also has a full solo mode if you are diving into this by yourself.
Are you going to be picking up these new metal miniatures?

I like the champion of faith *g*
I’m tempted by a few of these, particularly the more esoteric characters like the supernatural investigators and the champion of faith.
Very much looking forward to seeing what the Austrain and Russian models will look like.
Intersting. Could get expensive when the Russians* arrive.
* Russians represent a loophole for “no new projects”
** and Russians are awesome
I hope they Will give us the option of selling them as singles or sets. I’d buy the Spanish as a set for sure but only a few of the others.
I like the sound of the solo mode for these rules and these North Star minis are class.
they would be great for a War & Peace game.
the sculpts look excellent, really liking the look of this game
