Nocturna Models Sculpt The Norse Gods On IndieGoGo
December 12, 2014 by brennon
Nocturna Models have popped up on IndieGoGo with a new campaign to raise money for a range of 72mm sculpts based on the Norse Gods and the time of Ragnarok! See what you think of Thor, Freya and Loki...
These sculpts by Farhad Nojumi and Ali Jalali under direction of Jesús Martin are going to come to you in high quality resin and they do look very stunning indeed. I particularly like Freya and Loki although of course Thor is magnificently powerful looking with his hammer, Mjolnir.
As well as the big 72mm miniatures there are some 30mm scale additions that you can get with them if you pledge and break their goals. The first is a Dvergr (Dwarf) followed by the mighty wolf himself, Fenrir, and a rather angry looking Jotunn too with the Ice Giant.
They are very close to their target right now and I've no doubt they're going to jump past it very soon. Even if it doesn't reach it's goal the project will still receive it's funding thanks to the flexible funding option presented by IndieGoGo. An interesting angle to take.
What do you think?
Those are really epic. Worthy of mighty Norse Gods.
Awful, high fantasy nonsense. Is this meant to be myth or Marvel?
I see very little other than Loki and Thors helmet that points to Marvel.
What’s wrong with either, or neither ? Warhammer is high fantasy as well, and has quite the parodic take on history and myth…
Well, if you want to bring up Warhammer … Warhammer is awful high fantasy nonsense as well in my opinion.
Well… I confess I do prefer something more low-key, but every now and then this is nice.
Fantastic sculpts. I don’t care who they parody. And the size will make them godlike on any 28mm table.
Miss Freya looks marvellous… does that count as both? 🙂
I can vouch for Nocturna… Whether or not you like the style/sculpt, they’ll be extremely detailed and artfully made, with top quality casting to boot !
This looks like a great deal for the display painter.
wow! really wish i had money left over, these look stunning! that loki in particular! i’m a big fan of norse mythology and thor the marvel comic… these are gorgeous and straddle between the 2 styles brilliantly! i wouldnt be able to resist painting loki up in muted greens and dirty golds
Yeah, it does sound like a lot of money all at once, but this is the market price for that scale… plus you get freebies and free shipping, apparently.
