New Warlords, Skirmishers & Zulus From Wargames Atlantic
November 28, 2023 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic have added a bunch of new 3D Printable kits to their Atlantic Digital collection. These should allow you to dive into more 28mm Historical wargaming on the tabletop and perhaps fill in the gaps in your collection or start something new!
Sub-Roman Warlord & Retinue // Wargames Atlantic
We start with the Sub-Roman Warlord & Retinue set that should give you some good options for getting started in building up your Romano British force on the tabletop. This set comes with a mighty Warlord worthy of legend, perhaps the saviour of the Britons perhaps and defeater of the Saxons.
You get a miniature for that very Warlord as well as a Loyal Retainer and "Wizard" that will no doubt be aiding him in his decision-making as he strives to be king. A fun kit that could be great to slot into collections for the likes of SAGA.
Ancient Skirmishers
Going back in time a little bit, we also have this set of Greek/Thracian Peltasts that can cause some issues for your opponent from range.
Greek Thracian Peltasts // Wargames Atlantic
This has been designed as a set that could suit Greeks and Thracians and also perhaps be the basis for a lot of other armies too. You get the Peltasts themselves as well as javelin arms, heads and some capes which can be used to mark leaders of units.
Rank & File Arab Warriors
Moving on a little bit, we also have some Early Arab Spearmen looking to perhaps hold their own after the fall of Rome.
Early Arab Spearmen // Wargames Atlantic
With rising Christian kingdoms and the ever-present threat of Eastern tribes knocking on their doors, this could give you a good set of core troops to help defend the Arab world. Wargames Atlantic have pointed out that these could be good for the Levant and the conquest of Spain and Southern France. You get some suitable core options in the set for making large units thanks to the spears and shields here. I like the addition of the damaged shield as an option in the set!
Black Powder Battles
Moving much further forward in time, we have some miniatures from the era of Black Powder and the time of Empire. Leading the way, we have some French Veteran Skirmishers that might be a good option for those building those new Napoleonic forces.
French Veteran Skirmishers // Wargames Atlantic
Uses these fellows as a way to combat the British Riflemen and perhaps get the best of Sharpe and his Chosen Men! This set gives you options for a command element as well as six other figures to use as skirmishers. There are plenty of heads in the set and various arm options to help make a dynamic set of skirmishing troops that can go ahead of your core infantry.
If you're looking to dive into a bitter and gruelling last stand then how about some Zulu Warriors?
Zulu Warriors // Wargames Atlantic
You could use these miniatures to represent those who fought at Rourke's Drift or you could use them for a bit of tribal warfare as different factions look to control the land. The set comes with options to make these warriors either Married or Unmarried and you get plenty of those iconic spears and shields. There are also captured British Martini-Henry rifles and muskets in the mix as well which might be good for getting one up on a British patrol.
Are you going to be diving in and picking up any of these 3D Printable sets for yourself?
