A New Wargaming Universe With Verge Of War
August 28, 2018 by cassn
A self-described 'sci-fi space opera', Verge of War combines classic wargaming and RPG elements to bring the history of this new universe to life.
Godlike Asgar lords, powerful Seit psionics, ambitious Skrags, avaricious Eltofa, cunning Kija, merciless Pirates and many others fight for dominance in the Galaxy. “Sword of Athene”, a mysterious and fearsome weapon hidden in the Forbidden Sector, is the key to power.
There are ten factions built into the universe; Human, Seit, Pirates, Asgar, Kja, Eltofa, Rungars, Skrags, Triclons, and Arachnids. However, the first Kickstarter focuses on only three - The Human Empire, Thr Seit Civilization, and Pirates.
The game can be played as either a campaign where commanders can be leveled up or as a classic tactical wargame style. There is a codex for different races and different stats for various units.
Base rules for the game can be found on the Verge of War website, and are relatively easy to understand for anyone previously familiar with wargaming, although there are a few interesting mechanics for leveling up commanders.
Verge of War has a consistently changing, fluid plot thanks to the involvement of players with their Intelligent Feedback System (IFS). With IFS, Verge of War players can provide feedback to the company, who then use the feedback to shape the narrative of the universe.
However, perhaps the most interesting elements of this new wargame are the miniature components. These are 28mm units, easy-to-build, with customisable parts, and composed of durable resin for high definition miniatures.
The Free Pose Miniature Technology ensures that characters are further customisable with endless pose options. And with a plethora of unique characters, with more being unlocked with each stretch goal, it is good to see a wargame which takes so much pride in the creation of their components.
The game can be played between 2-4 players, and backers on Kickstarter have a range of pledges to choose from. There are just over two weeks left, so if you're looking for a new wargame, get it here.

I think it much logical that professionals know what exactly and how to write in order to do this correctly would be entrusted with this situation. But later there will be no problems or complications. I highly suggest that you get to know the business, which I have personally asked for help repeatedly and are always glad to help and touch. Naturally I am talking of good firms, such as writing here https://homework-writer.com/ and don’t regret it because the professional service is very good, as well as the money I’ve not seen such rates anywhere, takes in a very modest… Read more »
