The Undead Rise As Next Faction For Gangfight’s Blackwater Gulch
June 16, 2016 by brennon
Building on the Fantastical element within their game, Blackwater Gulch, we have another creepy crew to look forward to from Gangfight Games. See what you think of the concept art for The Wicked who are their take on an Undead themed warband for the game...
They are an interesting bunch to say the least and I'm glad that they didn't just go down the route of shuffling zombies for this. From left to right you have Wendigo, Rake, Brujah, Ghoul and Revenant.
I really like the style of Rake with that long and exaggerated body and those scything claws. Revenant is also rather awesome - an Undead fellow who seems to have retained some of his dignity!
What do you make of this crew?

I wonder if the second one from the left is inspired by B.P.R.D.’s Daryl (accordingly I might have dubbed this one the wendigo). Intended or otherwise I do like that. The other concepts as well. Guess we’ll have to wait for scuplts to see what they make out of them. After all, artistic 2D-concepts are to some degree a… Read more »
Front area of the head I meant…
I’m sorry, didn’t really pick up to your hook, @Brennon – I think they actually make a terrific gang. And, I, too, like that they aren’t another infusion of the revivified lately deceased!
I think I’ll stick to purely figures… wandering off into undead and other sidelines doesn’t appeal to me or my missus.
“purely western figures”
Thanks folks! We have sculptors working on this gang right now. We’ll have photos of them soon. As far as the horror themes, yes we don’t want to do the same old zombies and things in every other game (but we are planning to have some zombies mixed in, just because). We are trying to focus on folklore creatures and urban legends. The Rake is actually based on more of a modern urban legend, just google “Rake Monster” and you’ll see what he was based on. Also, if you’re not interested in the horror things and want more of a… Read more »
