Frostgrave Gets Its Own Magazine, Spellcaster
June 23, 2017 by brennon
Joseph McCullough, the writer behind Frostgrave, has assembled a PDF magazine called Spellcaster which is going to be releasing over the coming months. The first issue will be out for download on June 30th.
For fans of the Osprey Games extravaganza, this magazine will be a great port of call for those wanting to get a bit more out of their game. The first issue will contain...
- Rules for using black powder firearms
- Rules for horses in the Frozen City
- Rules for Knightly Orders which add variety to your knights and templars
- Alone in the Crypt – a solo Frostgrave scenario in which you play a captain with a quiver-full of magic arrows trying to escape a crypt full of undead
- The Catacombs of the Evrenbright – a three scenario mini-campaign originally created for Adepticon 2017
This sounds like a great labour of love from the writer and it will be fun to give this a read. I really like the Alone In The Crypt scenario he's put together showing off what you can do with Frostgrave.
Will you be downloading this?
"...this magazine will be a great port of call for those wanting to get a bit more out of their game"
cool….(get it) looking forward to the scenarios and more
What a great idea… it is a fun game with a hell of a lot of potential… Will be picking this up
always feel i’m missing out every time I see frost grave.
Without looking I’m guessing it’ll be better than GWs White Dwarf magazines of recent years. Definitely want to take a look.
cant see price is it free to download?
The link in the article says it’s 5$ and +/- 18 pages ( http://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.nl/2017/06/spellcaster-frostgrave-magazine.html )
I kind of hope that page count is a mistake, because it’s not exactly a lot of content for the price.
Then again … it’s not White Dwarf so it might be worth the money.
18 pages is still more real content than White Dwarf nowadays 😉
My initial reaction was that it was a lot for 18 pages of content, but on reflection, it is three sets of new rules, a solo scenario, and three-scenario campaign, all by the guy who writes the Frostgrave rules, so probably well worth it.
Very cool, I will pick this up 🙂
Could be good buy for Frostgrave players.
Alone in the Crypt does sound very cool.
Great idea. I’ll definitely pick up the first one.
I’m definitely interested. Miss Flowers and her Boisterous Bouquet of Brigands would be all about gunpowder weapons!
Spike-Eye must be avenged! >:)
Would be interested and even more so if it was available in print
