New KeyForge Mat Designs Set The Scene For Aember Altercations
April 11, 2019 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games has designed nine new KeyForge Playmats for you to use when battling for Aember and the opening of vaults. As someone who loves the art direction of KeyForge, it's awesome to see them doing more full designs like these which show off the different factions from the game.
Each of these new 24” x 14” mat designs have been made to suit the game, giving you ample room for all of your cards as well as decks, tokens and such too. Well, unless you're playing Sanctum and just refuse to be pushed off the table!
The designs work for all of the different factions with you being able to pick the ones that you play the most. I for one really like anything that involves Sanctum or Dis.
As well as showing the allegiance to your favourite faction these also show off the brilliantly colourful and varied world of KeyForge that Fantasy Flight Games have managed to build here. Despite having such diverse and varied factions bound together in the game there seems to be a neat coherent link between all of them.
As well as nine new full-art designs the team have also designed two mats which will cater to those learning the game, be they right or left handed. I didn't think of this but I imagine some people do have preferences!
These are marked with places for your discard pile, deck, tokens and keys as a guide and would make a great setting for someone trying out the game at a store perhaps. These look to mirror the designs which are going to be present in the new KeyForge set which should be landing soon.
What do you think of the new designs?

Love the artwork do they have mat’s with them on them.
I always feel like Brobnar has the best art and that Viking drummer boi definitely gets my vote.
Those look nice.
