Flit Like A Spider With Wargame Exclusive’s New Squad
September 19, 2016 by brennon
Wargames Exclusive have been working on a number of different products to act as alternatives when you're playing your grim dark Sci-Fi games. Their collection grows to include their Eldar Spiders.
Above you can see their Patriarch (it should really be Matriarch) who is sculpted leaping into battle with blasters at the ready and close combat weapons poised to strike. The idea is that you could use her as the leader of the unit or as a regular HQ model in-game.
Their regular Spider troops are looking a little top heavy but I quite like the big shoulder pads and helmets. It would be good to see them potentially make them that little chunkier, stepping away from the lithe Elf look. After all, technology will zap them from place to place in the far future.
More Characters
Additionally, the team at Wargame Exclusive have worked on other big products and their range is fairly big now. One such model is the Mortuary Prime here from their Chaos collection.
Their Xenos Trapper is another of their miniatures meant as an alternative for Warhammer 40,000.
You can find quite the extensive selection of miniatures over on their webstore offering you a different take on these armies and their characters.
Would you consider picking any of these models up?

All that effort and the best they can do is take someone else’s IP. What a shame.
Those are very nice take on Eldar.
Shouldn’t that be ‘Matriarch’?
That’s what I thought.
It should be – but it’s a Patriarch on their website. While it is a woman have left up their name for it.
And here was me thinking that as a Dwarf player you were being in character and having difficulty distinguishing the genders of elves ;p
Talented IP thieves, although IMO look worse than the 23 year old originals.
Love the warp spiders. Might have to check those out. Quality of the models themselves always tend to concern me with the “alternative” producers, anyone bought from these guys before? If not I’ll find out for myself when they’re in my hands ;).
I bought some of their ‘Space Knight Egyptians’ – They are very high-quality without any flaws. The resin (?) pieces are tough and strong. It feels like detailed plastic.
Cheers for the info!
Dunno about the design – and they are all female (?) with very large heads.
Has my perception just been messed up because the GW figures are so old?
Yes the heads and weapons are really big for the body frame that support them.
its the helmets, they likely turn out smaller in the cast
