Avatars Of War has put together a series of physical releases for their expansive Fantasy collection. A new range of 28mm Goblin Characters have popped up on their webstore, sculpted by Felix Paniagua.

Goblin King - Avatars Of War

Goblin King, Krork Toadgobbler // Avatars Of War

The first of these miniatures is the mighty Krork Toadgobbler. The obvious use for this particular character would be to represent the mighty Grom The Paunch from Warhammer Fantasy Battles. I love all the detail worked into his belt accessories and the fact that he's carrying a great big Dwarven rune axe. Seems like the right target for a bit of a grudge quest!

As well as the named character, we also have a set of lower-ranking Goblin bosses. You can run this conniving individual as a Boss for one of your 9th Age armies if you're using those rules to play your games.

They come on all of those nice square bases which will make Gerry particularly happy. Keeping with the theme of more "standard" goblins that dwell in the mountains, we also have a Goblin Hero that could find its way into all manner of warbands.

Armed with a pair of flails, I would imagine that this chap is going to be quite the whirling dervish. I love the cheeky (and very toothy) smile that you can see under that helmet. The pose of the miniature makes him feel decidedly "grim" and I reckon he would work well within something more Mordheim-ish.

If you're looking for something a little bit wilder and out there then you also have the Forest Goblin Chief. Why dwell in the mountains when you can conquer the woodland?

Forest Goblin Chief // Avatars Of War

This fellow comes on foot and is armed with a pair of jaws that have been turned into rudimentary clubs/axes. I always like Forest Goblins as they feature all of the bright green of the greenskins but with a whole bunch of additional colour from those feathers.

Another of the options is this Forest Goblin Chief who has decided to lash and graft spider limbs onto his body.

Forest Goblin Chief (Alternative) // Avatars Of War

You get the sense that this fellow does a whole bunch of poisoned attacks when he gets into combat. This stands out from other Goblin characters out there and it should be an equal joy to paint. I like the feat that this could elicit in your foes as some twisted spider creation scampers towards you on the tabletop.

Could you be tempted to pick up some of these Goblin characters for your 9th Age armies and beyond?
