A Daemon Primarch + MKIII Space Marines For The Horus Heresy
August 31, 2023 by brennon
Warhammer: The Horus Heresy is expanding with more 28mm Sci-Fi miniatures for you to use when playing out the clash between Loyalists and Traitors. Leading the way, we have a stunning new Forge World miniature representing the Daemon Primarch, Fulgrim.

Fulgrim Transfigured is going to be a brand new resin miniature that you'll be able to pick up (after you re-mortgage your house) from Forge World to use during your Horus Heresy games. This is easily the biggest of the Primarch miniatures that has been produced to date and it's not hard to see why. Those wings look wonderful but I am getting stressed out just looking at them!
Fulgrim Transfigured (Details) // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
The miniature has been designed so that it matches up really well with the version of him seen in some artwork and the descriptions in the books. He very much epitomises Slaanesh and I love all the various weapons he is armed with. It really gives off the vibe of a warrior who is a master of all manner of methods of warfare.
A pretty amazing and beautiful miniature but I shudder to think how much this fellow is going to cost!
It has already been noted that this miniature for Fulgrim will not have rules for Warhammer 40,000. I know a lot of folks would love for that to be the case but I would guess that something else is waiting in the wings for the grimdark future.
New MKIII Space Marines
If you're looking to bolster the ranks of your Legion then you might well be tempted by a new set of MKIII Space Marines. These iron-armoured warriors are going to be great for those looking to build certain Legions during The Horus Heresy.
MKIII Tactical Squad // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
A solid set of miniatures for those looking to build Legions like the Death Guard, Iron Warriors and Salamanders to name a few. What's also nice is that this plastic kit is also compatible with the other sets that have been released for The Horus Heresy so you can start to mix and match should you see fit to do so.

This set of MKIII Space Marines are also forming the basis of a new boxed set that you can use to get started in The Horus Heresy or bolster an existing Legion. This Legions Astartes Battlegroup comes with a LOT of the MKIII Space Marines, a Land Raider and something funky there in the background!

Yes, there is also going to be a new plastic kit Deredeo Dreadnought which was previously available in resin from Forge World.

Deredeo Dreadnought (Options) // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy
The Deredeo Dreadnought is essentially the walking firing platform of your Legion. Where the Contemptor can get stuck in and deal with your foes in close quarters, the Deredeo is there to sit at the back of your lines and cherry pick vehicles, fellow Dreadnoughts or even entire units to destroy. I find the Deredeo quite an awkward-looking Dreadnought but I can see why other folks quite like it. I much prefer my Dreadnoughts to be more in line with the regular Contemptor or the classic box-based design.
Could you be tempted to snap up these new miniatures for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy?

Ka’Bhanda was £260 last year (and he was probably the biggest HH “miniature” you could get at the time)- not sure of his current pricing. So, Fulgrim? Got to be around £300 easy. But oh my word that is a stunning miniature. Looks like my pay packet is going to take a sizeable hit when that fella goes up for pre-order! Still have to get The Khan the new Horus and Morty and Magnus from the HH range as well. Jeez my almost complete Primarchs project is starting to look anything but at this point! I am starting to think… Read more »
Oh bugger. I’d not put 2+2 together and just thought he was the plastic 40k Fulgrim. Other than squeezing collectors I don’t know what he’ll have to offer over the rumoured plastic model.
it’s all part of their plan to re-do all of the Primarch’s in new an dynamic poses showing them at a different point during the HH.
Still hoping for that naked Konrad Curze in feather cloak model!
Interesting. Daemon Lorgar would be my one to look out for (and a kick up the jacksy to paint static Lorgar).
We will defo get a Daemon Lorgar – I think he has rules in the current HH game.
I reckon we will get Dorn next – as the Imperial Fists are the loyalist posters boys of HH, and then I reckon we will get Lorgar.
So maybe by about 2026….
Love the MIII armour.
