New Crown Battlefleet & Terrific Dragons Hitting Dystopian Wars
October 27, 2021 by brennon
More previews dropped from the folks at Warcradle this week for their November Releases. Dystopian Wars features quite extensively with some brand new miniatures for a variety of different factions. We start with The Crown.
Victory Battlefleet Set // Dystopian Wars
The first of the massive sets that you'll want to check out is the absolutely immense Victory Battlefleet Set for the forces of The Crown. This comes absolutely laden with massive ships that are ready to hove into view and blow apart any oncoming foe.
Within the set, you get Victory Heavy Carriers, Albion, Caliburn, Agincourt, Hotspur, Athelstan and Excalibur Class Cruisers. You have the luxury of choice here for sure. This is then bolstered with the addition of the Morgana Class Submarines which can be used to hunt your enemies. If you want to start out with The Crown then this seems like a good way to do so.
Colossal Dragons!
Moving away from The Crown, we also have the Tianlong Battlefleet Set for The Empire.
Tianlong Battlefleet Set // Dystopian Wars
This particular set comes with three of those absolutely amazing looking Tianlong Draconic Colossus. Those miniatures are absolutely amazing and come laden with guns, even in the mouth and on the tail. Imagine these floating across the surface of the ocean and descending on your fleet!
You can finish things off in this fleet with the addition of the Gong Destroyers. No, they won't be destroying gongs...they are... never mind. An impressive collection and shows that Dystopian Wars doesn't just have to be all about ships.
Supporting The Enlightened
We finish things for the November preview of Dystopian Wars with a visit to The Enlightened. They are getting themselves a new Support Squadron.
Enlightened Support Squadron // Dystopian Wars
Fulfilling a special role and plugging some of the gaps in your fleet, this set comes with two Plinius Cruisers which can also be built as Quintilian, Tacitus and Claudius Class Cruisers. You also get the Praxilla Submarines which can also be built as Diogenes Class Submarines instead.
We'll take a closer look at all of these ships when the sets come up for release next month in November. But, I think you'll agree that these are some pretty awesome additions to three different factions.
I am still blown away by those Tianlong Draconic Colossus. Imagine how awesome those are going to look painted!
What faction have you gone for in Dystopian Wars?
Disclosure: OnTableTop and its companies are part of the group of companies owned and operated by Wayland Games Ltd since 12/10/2020.
"I am still blown away by those Tianlong Draconic Colossus..."
Hmm….. if you take two of the same halves from the Enlightened Support Squadron and glue them together… I think they would look nice for a billion suns and games like that
@sundancer – but what base sizes should i use?
That answer is easy: YES!
? The victory fleet may work as well?
Not as well I think. The “this is the bottom part” is way to prominent IMHO. the flowing round shapes make it more “all rounded”
Those submarines could theoretically work using this concept; the prow-mounted saws could then serve as side-mounted saws for broadside assaults
If you use the turret vertions I think they look very imperial gothic style?
Could work though I feel there is a bit more work needed.
Possibly I’ve not seen the models in the flesh.
Ooof that’s a pretty full Crown boxed set
Those look really good.
Nice is that robo dragon’s?
