New Characters & Magical Allies Coming To GCT Studio’s Bushido
September 8, 2023 by brennon
A new range of releases are now available for GCT Studios' Bushido covering a variety of factions for their 35mm Fantasy skirmish game. In addition to new miniatures, a range of previously released Starter Set miniatures are also joining the collection as separate releases.
Tatsuo // Bushido
Leading the way, we have a new miniature for the Prefecture Of Ryu in the form of Tatsuo. This lady has massive potential and a toolbox of benefits which can be used to help her allies. I really like the pose of the miniature too, wafting her incense sticks and summoning up mystical energies as she steps across the battlefield.
Next up, we have a look at Sakaguchi who fights for the Ito Clan.
Sakaguchi // Bushido
Sakaguchi is an a deadly archer for use with the Ito Clan. Not only can those arrows be used to great effect (as we've seen in Conan!), it also adds new miniatures to the battlefield as allies. A niece bonus. I always like seeing the snake-like characters for the Ito Clan and how the human elements have been melded with those of the snake. I think this looks properly awesome and very sword & sorcery in vibe.
If you're looking to get monstrous with the Oni of the Savage Wave, we have the mighty Tsuta.
Tsuta // Bushido
Tsuta has access to some mighty ranged attacks that can do a lot of damage should you pick the right target. It's also another of the mighty Oni and GCT always make excellent miniatures for these demonic warriors. It's good to see a female one in the mix as well alongside a lot of the male ones.
The Descension also get a new miniature in the form of Hotene.
Hotene - Bushido
She is the second of the new tribe who is going to be very helpful when it comes to diving into scenario-based play and positioning on the tabletop. She is also a handy melee fighter should you require her services up close and personal. I love the creepy and unsettling vibe to the sculpt and how you've got a little of that bird quality seeping into her design. You can see it especially with her feet!
The Minimoto Clan are also calling on some more warriors to aid them in their endeavours. Marshal the Ashigaru Of The Peaks!
Ashigaru Of The Peaks // Bushido
Heavily armed and armoured, they are very good for holding objectives and making sure that no-one surprises you! Again, great miniatures that match up with the theme of big and burly that you get with the Minimoto Clan.
Last but not least (when it comes to new releases), we have the strange Kaiyō & Mangetsu.
Kaiyo & Mangetsu // Bushido
Players are going to find these very handy when it comes to generating a lot of Ki. Slot these in alongside a Villagers list and you'll get plenty of use out of them. These are no doubt going to be a wonderful painting project. I really like the idea of painting these miniatures with some gorgeous crystal colours.
Two-Player Starter Set Miniatures Now Available
As well as the new releases above, there are also a raft of miniatures from the previously released two-player starter set that you can now get separately. Here they all are!
Taiyo // Bushido
Hozumi Daihanji // Bushido
Hozumi Koga // Bushido
Hozumi Maha // Bushido
Kenmeina // Bushido
Kiyozumi Haiboku // Bushido
Kiyozumi Hinadori // Bushido
Kiyozumi Kicho // Bushido
Kiyozumi Sadaka // Bushido
Ryokeen // Bushido
If you're looking to snap up these miniatures and slot them in alongside your faction of choice, you can now do so. That starter set had some gorgeous miniatures and it'll be nice to see what people do with them as they get their paintbrushes ready.
Will you be picking up these Bushido miniatures?
