Games Workshop revealed another new set of miniatures for the new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. The Skaven are getting an upgrade to one of their iconic units, the Warplock Jezzail. Shoot your enemies from afar like a good Skaven so you don't have to get anywhere near the fighting.

The classic two-rat team of Skaven make up your Jezzail team. One of them is hunkering down behind the pavise shield so they can prop the gun up and perhaps protect themselves from anyone shooting back. In-game, they wound on threes and get two attacks each dealing two damage with two rend! That means that they are going to punch through some of the heaviest armour like that of the Stormcast Eternals.

Using the Warpstone Snipers rules, if they don't move then they get better at shooting making them a deadly addition to your collection. Miniatures-wise, they're looking awesome and I like that there is still that mix of arcane engineering and slapdash tinkering on show.

The best thing about painting up the Skaven is that you can be pretty dirty when it comes to your painting. You don't need to worry about clean lines when you're working on warriors that scamper through filth on a daily basis. I think you could do some fun stuff with glow effects and such when it comes to showing off where the warpstone is leaking out too!

New Warhammer Previews

If you're eager to find out more about Warhammer Age Of Sigmar then you'll want to catch the next Warhammer Preview which is coming up next week.

The first of the previews is on Thursday and Friday of 16th and 17th May. It will be broadcast for use in Europe rather earlier in the morning (1am) but at least it means you can stay up and then go to bed later! This will be the first showcase of the launch box for the new edition of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar.

The team will also showcase a series of Spearhead games with commentary, running through the rules and showing off the game in action which is a nice bonus.

For those interested in the Matched Play side of things, there will be a bonus stream on the 18th/19th May between Lumineth Realm-lords and Skaven.

Matched Play Masterclass // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar

This will be played by World Champion Nicholas Tassone and runner-up Tom Mawdsley so you'll be able to see the new edition played at full tilt. That could be interesting for those who want to start attending tournaments later in the year.
