New 28mm Afghan Cavalry Rides Forth From Wargames Atlantic
March 13, 2024 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic are now taking pre-orders for their new 28mm Afghan Cavalry that will be thundering into your Historical wargames throughout the 1800s and into the early portion of the 1900s.
Afghan Cavalry // Wargames Atlantic
This set features parts for you to make twelve of these Afghan Cavalry miniatures that can be sent to battle invaders to their country. You might have found them battling against the British during the 1830s through all the way into the 1920s on the North-West Frontier. These riders are able to strike hard and fast, allowing them to devastate enemy infantry before rushing off into the terrain they know so well.

Interestingly, Wargames Atlantic has also mentioned that depending on the weapons that you choose, these cavalry miniatures could end up being good for your battles in the 1700s and perhaps even more modern conflicts.

A great set of miniatures that has somewhat exploded out of nowhere, just like when they come to charge down your enemies. You've got some great, galloping horses and then the riders who can be armed with a variety of different weapons alongside a selection of heads.
As mentioned, these miniatures are available to pre-order now ahead of a release in late March.
Will you be picking up the Afghan Cavalry?

These and the Men Who Would be Kinds are high on my “no new projects but” list.
I’ve been waiting a long time for this
You can also mix these with their 3D prints for Modern Afghans on Horses which was 100% a thing during the Civil War in the 90’s.
12 Strong: The Declassified True Story of the Horse Soldiers is a good source for that although the movie is utter trash and even the book is obvious American Propaganda. But the Afghan Civil War stuff is good and the way it describes them using horses in the rough terrain would be good inspiration for some wargames.
