Necromunda’s Squats Armour Up To Stake A New Claim
October 9, 2024 by brennon
The Squats of Necromunda aren't going to be left out when it comes to securing a new claim in Hive Secundus and the Underhells. The place might be packed with malformed Genestealers but that won't stop the Ironhead Squat Prospectors from heading into the darkness in search of treasure.
Ironhead Squat Prospector Exo-Kyn // Necromunda
These Exo-suits are based on the void suits used by their ancestors and they have a really fun Oldhammer vibe to them. Whilst they are painted in this more modern style here, I think these would look great painted in a brighter colour with plenty of freehand. Classic Squats vibes in abundance!
Ironhead Squat Prospector Exo-Kyn // Necromunda
These suits protect their Squats from environmental hazards as well as the fearsome creatures that dwell in the wastes of Necromunda. They are also equipped with mining kit that doubles as weaponry as you can see above. Why spend hard-earned credits on weapons from the Leagues when you could make use of the equipment you've already got?
The Squats also make use of the Technmites which will be sneaking around looking to buzz people with their own weapons.
Techmite Exovator // Necromunda
What's interesting is that Games Workshop has said that this isn't the end of the reveals for the Ironhead Squat Prospectors in Necromunda. The style of the Squats is great and in many cases, better than the Leagues Of Votann. I wonder if we'll see more people picking up these miniatures to represent units in Warhammer 40,000?
Ironhead Squat Prospector Exo-Kyn Crew // Necromunda
Could you be tempted to pick up this set and use it as part of your expanding Necromunda crew? Interestingly, this set has been revealed to be in plastic! It's good that the more elite element of the Squats hasn't been locked into Forge World Resin.
Are you going to be picking these miniatures up?

Ironheads are not the size of OG Space Marines? XD
Hammertime!
There’s a nod towards the egg shape of their predecessors. Would love to see a Lloyd shot.
As modern squats go, these arent bad
Awwwww, who’s a cute widdle fella den!
I like ’em. Really dig (hur, hur) all the squats’ little robot pals, too. Very cool.
Ils vont être super pour une killteam.
These are not space dwarves.
Proper space dwarves always have beards.
I like the yellow helmets that remind me of the classic squat helmets.
It also makes me wonder why GW is making units for all these games that aren’t 40k and not giving them profiles for those games as well. Surely it would be cool if you could use them across all of their games, instead of some of them ?
But. But. They have beards, right? No moustaches, per se, but that is not a requirement to call it a beard. Or do you mean that the robot and the techmites are missing some iron facial hair? In that case, I couldn’t agree more!
Literally every single one has a beard. Except the robots. I am assuming they can’t grow a beard.
Beards. Right there on their faces.
Like with all the Ironhead Squats I will be looking to head swap. The yellow hats always look very duplo/hey Arnold to me! Will mix in with my Votann as no second wave for them on the horizon yet.
