Mysterium, Pandemic & Legend Of The Five Rings Are Getting Comics!
September 3, 2021 by fcostin
It is always so incredible seeing this industry which we love so fondly grow into something entirely bigger. When I was a little girl, clutching on to my wooden components, playing CATAN with my family - I could never have imagined what would be capable in the world of tabletop gaming! High-quality miniatures for board games, video games crossovers, and even novels based on my favourite titles. This industry has exploded and it is incredibly interesting to see where we are headed next.
Crossing over to the comic book industry, Source Point Press will be taking on titles such as Legend of the Five Rings, Pandemic and Mysterium as part of a new licencing deal with Asmodee.
These comic books have promised to explore the worlds in which we love on the tabletop, which means visual narrative development for our favourite cooperative titles from Fantasy Flight Games, Z-Man Games and Libellud.
Although there is no release date for these comic books yet, it has been confirmed that we can expect these graphic adventures at some point next year in 2022.
So if you are looking to delve deeper to gain some new lore, and backstory for three very different universes - be sure to keep your eyes open for these special titles to hit our shelves.
What tabletop game would you like to see developed as a comic book?

It’s easier for me to follow, to understand and I’m not feeling suddenly left out just because I didn’t get “that one weird issue that was only sold in a Walmart in New York”.
It will be easier to make a decision with more info on the game’s.
None, not interested in any comic book adaptation. Nothing is going to be more interesting than the game and more fluff for those games mentioned adds little to the experience.
This is my cousins company, source point press, new york comic con has banned them from marketing the pandemic comic at their con because it may trigger victims or their loved ones. A little too over protective imo.
Most games are worldbuilding, not character driven, so any passive entertainment of game risks losing their audience if the focus is on a character that the customer could care less about. For example, in Pandemic, the writer could flesh out the background of the Dispatcher as a divorced parent who has to go through a crisis of handling his job while his child is in some sort of danger. That’s not what I bought the game for, so that’s why I wouldn’t buy the comic. L5R does have existing characters, so might work. But then runs into the problem of… Read more »
Will be interesting to see what they are coming out with.
