Rebel Minis has, by popular demand, made the rules for Morale Napoleon available for you to dive in and pick up. If you've not checked this out before, it could be a fun alternative for those seeking to play out large Napoleonic battles on the tabletop.
Morale Napoleon // Rebel Minis
The focus of Morale Napoleon is in the command of your 20,000 to 40,000 men that are marching forth across the battlefield. Key to the game is the idea of having a plan and working out exactly when you want to unleash your troops into the heart of the action. You might lose command of those soldiers as they continue to "do their duty" but if you've planned well, they might come back safely. Additionally, deployment and reserves are just as important and worth paying attention to during your games.
Despite this focus on the command element, the rules have been designed to be fun and easy to understand, especially when controlling a whole host of soldiers. There are also rules for over twenty different nations that fought during the Napoleonic Wars from the major players like the British and French down to their allies.
Another boon for Morale Napoleon is that it features complete rules for playing solo and cooperatively against an AI-controlled opponent. You can also go up against your friend in a head-to-head clash.
Finally, there is also a campaign system that allows you to tie your battles together and give you a reason to fight on and get revenge against your foes. Unleash your inner Sharpe and make sure you make some deep-seated rivalries!
In terms of scale, I've seen folks working at 15mm so that might be a good guide as to where you'd need to look for miniatures. It might be worth having a peek at more information online though.
Could you be tempted to get Morale Napoleon now it is in print?
