MomMiniatures Humans Heft Their Halberds
February 22, 2016 by dracs
MomMiniatures are expanding their human fantasy army with the addition of a unit that provided the backbown of many medieval forces; Halberdiers.
The halberd is an incredibly versatile weapon. Its spear tip and spiked edge make it very dangerous for cavalry and armoured enemies, while the heavy axe allows it to cut through opposing infantry with ease.
MomMiniatures have done a fantastic job with this unit. They have managed to give each member a certain level of individuality, which I always think is important with a massed unit like this.
The details of their uniforms and weaponry are all very clearly picked out, while the bearded faces seem to have a grim determination to them. You could imagine this unit bravely trying to hold the line against the forces of evil.
Could these halberdiers find a place in your army?

nice heavy foot troops.
The infantry look nice, but the halberds seem a bit oversized. I don’t just mean the head of the weapon, the poles look far too thick. They just look a little off to me.
Great stuff, and with what they charge, you can afford to make an army.
I really like these as figures but as stated by the necrothrall the poles would weigh far too much to be practical. But a swap out would be so easily achieved especially if the weapons are not moulded into the figure. I would give them house room might even give them a partial head swap for skulls I like to add units to my undead army of the night, a block of say forty would look good with a converted or sourced command.
Just had a proper look at their catalogue ace and so bloody cheap to boot my sort of stuff. I am going to have to make or find some undead skulls for dwarves someplace.
These are amazing models, I really want to use them for my Empire army in Warhamm.. oh shi…
Nice looking models, with lovely chaos models and warrior priests.
