MOM Miniatures’ Mighty Knight Comes Up For The Rent
January 10, 2017 by dracs
MOM Miniatures have released a new heroic knight for their fantasy human forces, an intimidating and heavily armed figure known as Kardos "La espada de alquiler".
Dressed in head to toe heavy plate armour, Kardos has a very striking appearance that puts me in mind of a Dark Souls character. Never a bad thing.
Kardos isn't the most dynamic of MOM's sculpts, and to my eye it seems the shoulders and head are oddly proportioned. Apart from this, it's a pretty nice model and I would love to use it as a hero figure for a skirmish game.
My only problem is not to do with the model at all, but rather that his title "La espada de alquiler" seemingly translates to "the sword of rent".
I realise this is one of those cases where online translating services might not be conveying the full meaning and that the term rent is here being used to mean "to tear", but all I can think of is this guy turning up demanding I pay up.
Would you field Kardos in your force?

Cool model, get a bit of a Dark Souls vibe from this one!
I quite like the sculpt and the the pose. This guy looks like he just said “Are you talking to me?” and is about to go ‘Half-swording’ on someones ass.
@dracs – surely “the sword of rent” implies this chap is a hired mercenary, yes?
That is very nice sculpt that really helps because his pose is so static.
“Sword for hire”, Shirley?
That’s what I thought and don’t call me Shirley
meh. Their sculpts seem lazy lately.
