Modiphius Birth Monstrous Creations For Achtung! Cthulhu
December 2, 2019 by brennon
Modiphius has been showing off three new kits coming to Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish. If you're looking for more weirdness in the mix for your Weird World War games then these twisted creations should make the cut.
Leading the way we have the terrifying-looking Die Totenkopf who is imbued with powerful strength and physical prowess allowing him to rip and tear his foes. The name also comes from the terrifying patron who they follow slavishly. I love how over-the-top and this miniature is summoning up impressions of him as a proper villain.
Things then go to the next level with the rest of the Die Toten who are skittering across the battlefield, unleashing their fury on their opponents and doing their best cutthroat killer impressions.
There are a few copycat sculpts in the mix but with a bit of diverse painting, you should be able to make them look interesting amidst the rest of your force. I like the idea of only using a handful of these and dropping them into the mix as roleplay villains hunting your heroes.
If you want to push things to the next level there is also the Die Auserwahlten collection which shows off the pinnacle of what the Axis have been able to create in Achtung! Cthulhu as the Black Sun take command.
This mixture of Chosen are a hideous mass of tentacles, writhing limbs, reaching claws and more. They might be 'chosen' but there is very little of their minds left within these husks. This makes them perfect living weapons to throw against the daring Allied forces trying to foil the plans of the Black Sun.
What do you think of these new offerings?

great for a Z-nation zombie game?
Die Toten look GREAT and absolutely horrifying! I could almost see them as an alternate take or variant of Doom Reavers in Warmachine. Those tree-men things on the bottom look good, but why would the Axis be making tree men?…NOPE THEY ARE MADE OF FLESH NOPE NOPE NOPE!!!
The Officio Assassinorum called. They want their Eversor back 😉
thought this was dead years ago…..
The game itself may not be as popular, but there are still lots of people buying their minis for use in Dust, Konflikt 47, or pulp WW2 games.
