More Mobile Airfields from Spartan Games

We have seen quite a few previews of airfields for the different countries/factions in Dystopian Wars from Spartan Games. This time its the day of the Covenant of Antarctica and Prussian Empire. Check out their previews below...
First up is the spider-like Herodotus Class Mobile Airfield for the Covenant...
Not bad looking at all. Bristling with weapons. But the Prussians have their own power house to get their fliers into the middle of the action. Below is the Seydlitz Class Mobile Airfield...
A massive, rolling iron cross showing some Prussian dominance on the land based theatre of war. These things are seemingly going to be great hunks of resin and it will be fantastic to actually get our hands on them and see the modelling that goes into these models.
Have these twisted your arm into looking at Dystopian Wars more closely?
The Herodotus is the first Dystopian Wars that doesn’t do it for me. Keep thinking about Wild Wild West.
Prussian one looks awesome.
A big iron cross wow! The new stuff for DW is just mind blowing great. And yes the prussians are now the coolest of them all.
I don’t know, a 2 tier Iron Cross, that’s a cool interpretation of an Icon that is about as Prussion as you can get. They go with a classic, but reinterpret it using 3 dimensional space. I like it. Nice symmetry and design on the circular portion of the first Covenant model, but I cant help but think that the back end just doesn’t have enough support. Insects get away with it because they don’t have the mass / gravity issues in play because of scale, but I would think that without some extra legs on the back, this thing… Read more »
Probably one of those DW models you should really be gluing to the base and getting the pennies out to weigh down the bases 😉
Ah the days of metal top heavy standard bearers in regiments lol
The Herodotus relies a lot on the idea of light-but-strong (Sturginium?) construction fluffwise but I like it – very War of the Worlds and being workable with thinner legs proportionally clearly makes it more advanced than the EotBS airfield.
The Seydlitz has GREAT narrative – say you’re a Prussian pilot returning from a hard mission. You approach to land and what do you see? National pride FTW. It doesn’t matter that you don’t get the same effect at ground level since that’s not the primary focus – it’s an AIRfield after all.
Spartan CGI work just keeps getting shinier and shinier.
