Microworld Games has expanded its 6mm Chinese Warring States collection with a few new miniatures that were funded by Kickstarter not long ago. Command figures and more are going to be taking to the tabletop soon in lovely metal.

Chinese Warring States Command - Microworld Games

These sculpts have come from Chris Smith and show off a variety of infantry and cavalry options that are handy when crafting the core of any army on the tabletop. The Command preview above is particularly awesome, especially with that banner bearer and command on the back of his horse. The detail is fantastic!

In addition to the Command figures, there are also packs for your Levy Spearmen and also the Heavy Ji Infantry. With these sets, you can hold the line with those massive shields and pointy spears before crashing into the heart of battle with some more elite infantry.

Fun miniatures to paint I think you'll agree. They should be quick to paint if you got a good basecoat down on them followed by a decent wash. You could also go down the route of painting with Speedpaint and/or Contrast if you fancy skipping a step. The Speedpaint would make them pop a little more with the vibrancy of the colours available.

Medium Ji Infantry - Microworld Games

Whilst I like a lot of the core infantry, I think some of my favourite miniatures from this new selection are the cavalry. You've got some deadly-looking Crossbow Cavalry getting into flanking positions and some Heavy Cavalry too.

These kits join the expansive 6mm range for the Chinese Warring States HERE where you can get your hands on some lovely Chariots as well as the miniatures you've seen here. Could 6mm be the way to build a fun Chinese Warring States army for the tabletop?
