Microworld Games Reveal Their 3mm Fantasy Orcs & Elves
May 11, 2020 by brennon
The first of the new 3mm Fantasy collection has been added into the mix by Microworld Games. They have designed both Elf and Orc & Goblin armies into the mix with all manner of troops, characters, war machines and more. We start with Elves!
The Elf collection features some classic looking characters with their conical helmets, fluttering banners, large spears and mounted troops. This looks like a fast and deadly force which is going to be outmanoeuvring the enemy on the battlefield.
These are very tiny but they would allow you to play out an absolutely massive battle. You could either use these as signifiers of your troops on the tabletop or something broader for campaigns. I actually really love what they've been doing here and the sculpting by Mark Keenan.
Greenskin Hordes
As well as the Elves, they also have a bunch of brilliant greenskin releases including Orcs, Goblins and more.
This is just the start of what they have planned it seems and I think that there will be a few more armies coming soon. I would absolutely love to see someone painting up these armies and showing off how detailed they could be once a talented brush-master has had a go.
You can also go and check out the expanded collection here. There are monsters, flying cavalry, war machines, extra characters and even two big army bundles which will get you started.
Are you liking the look of these tiny Fantasy armies?

I was looking at these a few days ago and was impressed by them. The quality is yet again as good as all the 6mm figures they produce
Definitely an indie of the week possibility
great for mass battles.
They look like good 6mm minis. And then you realise they’re only half the size. They look like they’d be a joy to paint (quickly and easily!).
I want a 3mm dragon
Liking the look of? I real life I’d be happy to see them at all…. 3mm? If I where to drop them I’d never see them again!
Hahaha!!!
I bought a whole range of their 6mm stuff a couple weeks ago, and it was a lot smaller than I expected…
I might have made an Amazon search or two for “magnifying painting lights”.
I can recommend these

Fantastic detail given the size. For some reason 3mm looks more appealing than 6mm. Twice as many minis on the same base size will really add to the mass battle feel.
How many orcs can dance on the head of a pin?
If anybody likes 3mm check out Vanguard Miniatures Defeat in Detail range, the detail is amazeballs.

regretting my 10mm stuff now…
Never say that
