Micro Art Wish Sir Terry Pratchett A Happy Birthday
May 1, 2019 by dracs
Last Sunday was the birthday of perhaps the greatest fantasy writer ever (fight me!). To mark the event, Micro Art have released a special Birthday Anniversary set of three of the latest models from their Discworld range.
The set features special, metalized versions of three of Ankh-Morpork's City Watch, all of which are currently available as regular figures.
Angua von Uberwald, the watch's own resident werewolf.
Cheery Littlebottom, the Disc's first openly female dwarf.
And finally Fred Colon, one of life's eternal sergeants.
These metalized versions make for a nice collector's piece, but I'll admit I would prefer the regular miniatures that Micro Art already have available. While the metalized look makes for great trophy pieces, the characters are so colourful already it would be a shame not to paint them.
What do you think of this new set?

Those look really good.
They look great Pratchett book figure’s
“the greatest fantasy writer ever (fight me!)” I will fight! But with you. As another great author wrote: “you have my axe”. Pratchett is the first author that really got me and still gets me. Currently I’m reading his last book (Tiffany Aching – The Shepherd’s Crown) to my daughter and some scenes in it really make me needing tissues.
Colon is the spitting image of a fella in my local.
Nice figures
Not sure I would say he’s the greatest fantasy writer ever though his first books are good the latter ones get too preachy for me.
He does pay a sort of homage at the start of Colour of Magic to who I think is the best and that is Fritz Leiber. Ankh Morpork is a direct rip off/parody/homage to Lankhmar
