Hire From MOMminiaturas’ Marienburg Company
February 14, 2019 by brennon
MOMminiaturas has taken to Kickstarter with their latest range of Fantasy releases. You can join up with their Marienburg Warband and make some money in the Old World.
The range brings together some of the typical fellows that you might have imagined hanging around in this Empire trading port. You have the typically grizzled looking Empire soldiers alongside Ogre Mercenaries and some warriors from further afield, particularly Estalia and Tilea.
Whilst these are actual miniatures from the Warhammer Old World the sculptor at MOMminiaturas has done a good job of bringing this world back to life for those who are still playing games like Mordheim and Warhammer Fantasy Battles on the tabletop.
I think this lot would be fantastic for those looking to delve into their skirmish games. I particularly like the Paymaster that you can see at the top of this image and the two Ogre Mercenaries who are no doubt going to be protecting him and the treasure.
This is a wonderful set and it will no doubt bust through its funding goal when the campaign launches.
What do you think of the range?

Fantastic minis and reasonably priced too.
They will work well as City guard’s.
They look lovely…. but I don’t play any fantasy system
Lucky me! XD
Those look really good.
Oh man, now I’m going to have to back this.
“Marienburg”? Hmm, you have to wonder if GW won’t step in and shut down this use of their IP.
I think he should change the name to something similar but different, just to be safe.
Well it does depend on does GW care about those old names from WHFB anymore. Then again they could just sue just because they can.
Marienburg is the name of several castles in Germany and a town in Papua Guinea. There is even a Treaty of Marienburg I would doubt they would have a leg to stand on
Well, this is used in the very specific context of gaming which is exactly the same context that GW used it in. Of course it would ultimately be up to a judge to decide, but getting to that decision could be very time-consuming and costly, not to mention completely derailing this Kickstarter.
But that whole nightmare scenario and all its expenses & hassles can be so easily avoided right now by simply changing a few letters.
I don’t see how there would be hassles It’s still a name and in public use for centuries so can’t be copyrighted. The context is unimportant
So true. Besides it’s not like GW had invented that word. They also took it from real life to be used in they on setting. After all GW took lot of things from different sources and giving those they own spin.
2€ sounds a bit too cheap for a miniature, I wonder if he’s done his maths right
It’s what you’d pay for a 28mm white metal historical figure
Too true, you think with the amount of Perry and Warlord stuff I have lying around I might have noticed!
Maybe I missed it, but what’s the pricing on this.
Looking at the price and having had negative experience with resin miniatures (especially from Spain) … Does anybody know more about the company and the quality it produces? Those look great, but if something sounds too good to be true … it usually is.
