Menhir Games Ready To Launch Second Fantasy Champions Kickstarter!
February 25, 2015 by brennon
Menhir Games have great success late last year with their Fantasy Champions From Around The Ancient World Kickstarter which took established races from Fantasy worlds and tied them into ancient cultures from our own history. Well, they're back for another go and more models are on the cards as the next Kickstarter launches on the 2nd of March!
We'll kick things off with a look at an Elf and Dwarf, more specifically a Sullkani Elf and a Hassim Dwarf! It's really cool to see fantasy races done in this alternative style and it gives great breadth for expansive role-playing campaigns where you take on different cultures.
Above you can see two additional sculpts which feature the Inuit Orc and the Dokkaebi Goblin to round things off. That's not all though as they plan to bring even more variety to the tabletop with the likes of Ekal'ki Human and Yomi Oni in the future if they get the funding. I know what you're thinking too, 'I don't know what any of these cultures are'.
That's one of the cool things about this! The amount of added learning you're going to get from checking out these cultures for yourself should help give you more knowledge for the future so that's pretty awesome.
Did you back their first campaign?

Looking good.
Very strange poses… all the ones we left behind in the ’80s, particularly that odd weight-on-the-back-foot stance. That back foot may need to go on a rock in a few cases, so the fellows don’t get pushed over :-). Good thing about CG is that it’s easy enough to change.
Thanks for the post! Here i leave you a link to the draft:

@cpauls1: some minis have particualr “instances” as you said, the inuit orc is left handed and about to hit with all his strengh, while the sullkani elf pose is a “sneaking” one, he is “hunting ” we can say, the next move is moving his back foot to the front leaving the left foot behind etc etc.
Salutes!
Is it just me or is the size of the links in the mail armor on the dwarf and goblin huge? Looking back over the past several models on the KS page it looks like the sculpting style for ring-mail has changed quite a bit. I hope they get it right eventually.
