Two More Members of Justice League Dark Join Heroclix
January 22, 2015 by dracs
I'm not a big fan of the New 52 reboot as a rule, but it did bring us what has to be one of the coolest sounding teams in the DC Universe, the Justice League Dark. A couple of these mystical fighters have already appeared in Heroclix, but now two more of its members have been turned into minis.
First, we meet one of the world's most famous monsters, Frankenstein (the bit of me which specialised in Gothic literature at uni is squirming at not calling him Frankesntein's Monster).
As you might expect, Frankenstein is something of a power house with super-human strength and durability. Technically undead, and therefore unable to die, Frankenstein can even replace damaged body parts with those of others if the need requires it.
Following on from Frankenstein we have one of the DC Universe's most well known supernatural heroes, Zatanna.
Zatanna might well be one of the most powerful magicians in the DC Universe. A superb stage magician, Zatanna's true power lies in casting spells by saying words backwards. She has been a stalwart ally to both Batman and John Constantine in the past, and more than earned her place as one of the Justice League's experts on all things sorcery.
Are you a fan of Justice League Dark? Would you include either of these in your Heroclix line up?

That’s actually quite a fun ability on Zatanna, it gives her a bit of versatility.
She generally seem to have a dial worthy of the earths sorcerer supreme.
Frankenstein (Junior?) kind of makes me want to create a creature commandos team, I don’t know a thing about the comic, but I know enough to love the concept.
I’ve never been a huge fan of Heroclix, and many of the figs I have ended up being used in regular RPG’s.
I am keen to learn more about the JLD and how it’ll work in the Heroclix Universe. Nice looking figs though I doubt the retail ones will look quite so crisp! 🙂
Yeah the promotional images are always so much nicer than what you get int he package. The figures look pretty decent though.
The last year or so has seen the quality of Heroclix figs generally rise significantly. Sure, they’ll never be as good as “home painted” figs but the sculpts, with the addition of clear plastic elements, have been getting much better.
For example, my Kingdom Come Flash is a thing of beauty!:

That Zatanna has me wanting to make a “Fishnets” team.
Hmmm…Zatanna and Black Canary…anyone else?
I guess I could have Aquaman lead the team.
I’m really not the target audience for this, but that Frankenstien’s Monster looks on first glance a lot like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. I think it’s the way the body armour looks like a shell…
