Medbury Miniatures Bolster Their 28mm Medieval Collection
July 17, 2024 by brennon
Medbury Miniatures has recently added a selection of new 28mm Medieval figures to their collection for those wanting to build up armies for the Hundred Years' War period. There are some iconic characters and some rank-and-file miniatures for large armies and skirmishing warbands.
Edward "The Black Prince" // Medbury Miniatures
As someone who has picked up some of the Medbury Miniatures range before through the likes of Kickstarter, I can attest to the quality of their miniatures. They really are as good as you see here and I think that is particularly apparent in the likes of Edward "The Black Prince" above and Edward III.
Edward III // Medbury Miniatures
The detail on the miniatures is brilliant and they paint up very quickly. I am always a fan of the poses that Medbury puts together for their ranges and also the detail that you see in their faces. You get a real sense of the characters thanks to the expressions on the sculpts. It's good having both the mounted and on-foot versions of these characters as well for when you dive into the gaming side of things.
If you're looking to fill out the troop side of your force then you've also got some great options, some of which I've featured here. There are way more over on their webstore but I wanted to show off the painted figures as they are properly lovely.
Hundred Years' War Knights // Medbury Miniatures
These Knights With Great Helms are fantastic and I think the fellow with the mace is particularly menacing. You could imagine him staring someone down across a muddy battlefield having just delivered a deathblow to an enemy soldier.
Talking of miniatures evoking character, I was also drawn to the Tired Archers set that Medbury made. I really like the idea of mixing these in alongside other archers in a unit to show that they've really been putting the effort in.

If you're someone who has been looking to build up a warband or two for games like The Barons' War, these would be brilliant miniatures to snap up. The poses are great for skirmish games but they should also rank up nicely as well, especially leading from the front in big regiments.

All of these miniatures are available over on their webstore HERE so make sure to delve into the Medieval collection and perhaps start thinking up a fun army project for the rest of the year.
