Industria Mechanika Tinker With 1:1 Scrap Goblins!
November 14, 2016 by brennon
Industria Mechanika have teamed up with Adrian Smith to sculpt up some of their Scrap Goblins that are in 1:1 scale which is neat to see!
Both the Engineer (seen above) and the Lackey are looking superb and stand at a rather superb 175mm tall. They would be a wonderful product for a painter or hobbyist to get stuck into.
With such a big 'canvas' on which to paint you should have time to test out some interesting techniques involving skin, metal and clothing. I would love to see how you'd weather the models bases too and get stuck into making them feel lifelike.
I have mentioned before how Adrian Smith's artwork works as an evocative framework for people to do fantastic things.
His original artwork, and indeed most of his pieces, are filled with wonderful characters who convey emotions and make you WANT to get painting.
What do you think of this 1:1 scale challenge?

they would make great paper weights for game lovers?
Nice idea, so they’d do fulfill a purpose besides a purely visual role.
It’s good to see more of his style transferred to the sculped side of things!
Btw, what happened ti those takes on monstrous characters by his hand a while ago? Were they not even concepts for his Chronicles Of Hate series?
Will they be released in 28mm?
Isn’t 175mm a bit small for 1:1 scale? I make that just under 7″. Or are these supposed to be goblins in the folk tale sense rather than the modern fantasy/sf sense?
The goblins look lovely and there’s some fantastic gear on the rest of the site. Oh for unlimited time, space and money!
