May 12, 2022 by fcostin
We have some more announcements for Marvel Crisis Protocol, as Thanos' inner circle expands for the tabletop. Bringing two new Children of Thanos to the elite team of brutal warriors, Black Swan and Supergiant are joining the fray.
Expanding from the current collection of characters to live to serve their adopted father, players can now add to their vicious Black Order. With Thanos at the helm, Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight fortify the sides with Black Dwarf and Ebony Maw. Two new foes approach ready to be released soon.

If you have never met these characters before, they belong as part of Thanos' Children, helping him achieve his world-ending plans as he weaponises those closest to him. The MCU introduces us to four of The Black Order, which mostly got deleted by Scarlet Witch.
Black Swan Preview // Marvel Crisis Protocol
First up is Black Swan, who has also gone by the name of Yabbat Ummon Turru, being a lone survivor after a fierce invasion on an alternate Earth-1365. As a Princess keen on exploration, she unlocked the 'Library of Worlds' to then be raised by the Black Swans. Raking in the power of blasting fire energy from her eyes, harnessing superhuman strength and telepathic abilities, all of which doing so mid-flight hovering and fortifying with force fields around her.
Supergiant Preview // Marvel Crisis Protocol
Don't let your brain run loose if Supergiant is around. This reckless being is after knowledge, flexing Omnipathy and a sheer rage to crush those mentally superior. Her mental instability proves riotous, telepathically invading the opponent's mental wealth, she leeches inside to devour intellect. Whether that be via complete possession, or simply taking a cheeky listen. Phasing through objects for a quick escape, it's incredibly difficult to chink her armour.

Included in the upcoming set, players will find two of the 40mm models, character and tactics cards and a home base to sit on. The set is now sitting on pre-order from Atomic Mass Games, ready to be released for $39.99 in Q2 of this year. Considering that we are already in Q2, we could be seeing these new models anywhere from this month to the next.

Everytime I see MCP minis I am reminded I want to buy Knight Models DC range.
Did AMG remember that they needed to send you new products for review ? 😉
I can’t help but feel that these minis are strictly for existing fans of the comic series.
Must admit that I felt the same with Xwing.
Sure … I recognise the initial characters/ships, but as more new stuff gets released it quickly appears to require the kind of knowledge that only an otaku type fan could possibly have for the setting.
Without that link to the characters these are just a couple of interesting looking figures that could work in any setting featuring weird aliens.
what’s otaku?
I’ve always interpreted it as an super geek. One who knows ‘everything’ about his hobby/subject.
IIRC it’s the japenese word for geek.
New figures for me not even heard of them till now.
these are even more obscure than some of the characters turning up in mcu… i thought moon knight was obscure
How very dare you! I loved Moon Knight as a kid he was like nothing else in comics. Fighting weird rat people etc.
Still not sure I actually like the Disney+ show however, it was interesting, but I didn’t really feel like it was “my” Moon Knight.
But I stopped reading him sometime after he left the West Coast Avengers so perhaps the TV Show drew more from later storylines.
Any idea why these characters? I assume the molds to create a character cost the same for each character, so why the more obscure ones? Is it a movie or television tie-in? Is it to round out the forces for a faction?
Filling up agenda’s would be my best guess?
Getting a more varied pool of options for Thanos and the black order, while still having a themes force.
I don’t really know how many people here are into the modern comics. My collection covers 60’s to 90’s mostly with only some x-titles I from some 10 years ago, but those are sporadic.
Might be that these characters are better known with modern comic readers?
