The Massive Kagoshima Mobile Airfield from Spartan

We're thinking that even Indiana Jones would have trouble with this particular Temple of Doom from Spartan Games...check out the Kagoshima Mobile Airfield below.
Now that is one massive piece of kit. Made of masses of Sturginium reinforced metal this monster of a walker serves as the linchpin of any ground offensive by the Empire of the Blazing Sun. Equipped with turrets, broadsides, and incendiary rockets this thing will be dealing out a mighty amount of punishment.
The detail of the model is pretty incredible, with the delicately modelled Shinto Shrine atop the massive hanger bay which launches the tiny fighters. I would imagine many a Blazing Sun general will be picking this up.
What do you make of this monster vehicle?
Looks like it needs to stay still to allow the planes to launch/land.
I really like this model, that is from the bottom of the airfield and up. The legs just don’t do it for me. It makes it look stubby with the six small legs.
It reminds me a bit of the massive walker thing that cut down the trees in the first episode of Thunderbirds…think it was the first episode anyway. Or at least one of the first lol.
Even the music fits EotBS from this clip…

That be the one 🙂 Epic find.
BTW I think the first episode had Fireflash (the atomic powered passenger jet) and the TB2 ‘elevator cars’ to help it land without triggering the bomb.
Damn, now I need to find some more clips to watch, all this has given me a hankering for some Supermarionation (and not the kind Nintendo provides). 😉
Good model and very creative!
However, it doesn’t look so much like Shinto shrine as it does Himeji Castle (I should know living in Japan for many years).
