Mass Mutation Floods Into The Card Game World Of KeyForge
January 31, 2020 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games has announced the newest set of cards for the world of KeyForge. Billions upon billions more combinations have entered the fray as they look towards the new Mass Mutation set.
The new set of cards is presented in a range of different styles. You will be able to pick up just a normal Archon Deck which gives you the cards and nothing else, the Deluxe Archon Deck which comes with components for you to begin playing and then finally the Two Player Starter Set which gives you (surprise, surprise) two decks, mats and tokens.
The twist in the tale here comes from the introduction of mutations and Dark Aember into the world of KeyForge. Now, familiar characters will be coming back to the tabletop with some quirky changes in both their artwork and mechanics. This gives you another way to tell the story of KeyForge on the tabletop and follow the changing fortunes of the various factions.
Another twist is the addition of more enhance cards into your deck. This could allow you to draw more cards, capture more Aember, do more damage and lots of other combinations. There is a lot that they can do with the addition of a few new symbols.
Also...you can drop some bloomin' massive creatures into the mix that take up TWO CARDS in your deck.
So, as you can see the Deusillus takes up two cards in your deck and cannot be played without both parts. However, once he does get into play he has a LOT of health and plenty of epic play effects which allow him to do some destructive things.
You, therefore, need to work out whether or not you want to try and dig for this card to add it into the mix or just play with what you have and forget the investment of time it takes to get this bad boy to the tabletop.
Are you tempted by this big new set of cards?

Keyforge is such a great pick up and play game. Nice, short, and enjoyable.
Its not the MTG killer people thought it would be though, but if you like Hearthstone then its defently worth picking up.
