Take To The Stars With Mass Effect 5E D&D Homebrew!
June 28, 2019 by brennon
Luke Aeschleman and Hugh Thompson have put together quite the in-depth set of homebrew D&D rules which take you into the Sci-Fi world of Mass Effect.
Mass Effect 5E Player's Manual
Currently available online is the Player's Manual which contains rules for creating characters within this universe. Pretty much every race you could think of has been thrown into the mix here including my favourite, Turians!
You'll also find rules for a range of different Classes too based on the ones that you can pick from in the video game.
Beyond that, you have a full listing of exotic Sci-Fi equipment for you to pick from including hefty weapons and armour. You'll also get access to the biotic powers that some characters can pull on like the Adept and Sentinel.
This seems like a very in-depth system already and it's no doubt going to expand and grow as people contribute to the project. A lot of people have found the D&D 5E system to be very versatile and it's neat to see that folks are bringing lots of these well-loved franchises to the tabletop.
Since this is D&D it means that people are going to already have a foot in the door as it were, using a familiar system in order to explore their favourite worlds. It might even bring more people into the tabletop world!
What do you think?
"It might even bring more people into the tabletop world!"

You have to play an Elcor named Blasto.
The first Elcor Spectre
This looks like a update of the D20 system that was made a few years ago.
It needs to be in pdf form. Too fiddly as it stands. And exporting as pdf produces a messy document.
Seen a few modern and future variants recently.
It’s a shame it uses d&d as it’s backbone, otherwise I would be in.
Not a fan of 5e?
Not just 5e. There’s nothing wrong with 5e that hasn’t been wrong in 4, 3.5, 3, 2 etc. I play d&d because it’s what my group plays not because it’s a good system.
What is your preferred system for gaming mechanics?
There’s nothing massively wrong with the mechanics of the game, it’s the character progression. It’s terrible.
