Mantic Survives As The Walking Dead Shambles Into 2020
January 6, 2020 by brennon
Mantic Games has also been sharing some previews of what awaits players of The Walking Dead we look further into 2020. A selection of new boosters are going to be making the rounds throughout March and April.
You'll be able to get your hands on the Rick (Alexandria Leader) Booster, Aaron and Rick Booster, Heath Booster, Jesus Booster and Maggie (Hilltop Leader) Booster soon. As well as that, the new Show Exclusive Miniature is going to be King Ezekiel.
This miniature is going to be available at Adepticon and Salute this year as well as the Mantic Open Day which will be popping up in May. So, if you're looking for a new character to lead your band in Call To Arms for example, then maybe you should pay a visit to Mantic at one of these shows this year.
Scavenge Through Terrain
As well as the new models, you'll also be able to get your hands on some new TerrainCrate options. This will give you plenty of bits and piece to rummage through as your survivors seek some sustenance during the post-apocalypse.
There are some fun options here for those looking to play out a game set amongst our ravaged world. I really like the video game cabinets featuring DreadBall and Deadzone and the forklift truck which would be awesome to drive into a gaggle of walkers.
What do you make of the new offerings for The Walking Dead?

Ooh a leader’s meeting in the walking dead.
Love the game, but it’s lost a lot of steam over the past year. Here’s to hoping Mantic’s next wave can revive interest.
@fightcitymayor I have not been playing nor following it: any particular reason it is losing steam?
IMHO due to neglect from Mantic. Less discussion from the top means less discussion in various online forums related to All Out War. I’ve also seen minis on clearance at more OLGS than ever, along with an inability to get the Wave-5 stuff (likely short-printed.) As an enthusiast I was hoping the Call To Arms release last year would refocus attention on the product, but Mantic kind of shoved it out the side-door in late summer, then immediately focused attention on Kings of War 3E, Vanguard, and the disappointing League Of Infamy Kickstarter. With the new materials for AOW being… Read more »
@fightcitymayor That sounds very disappointing. Would you say the neglect is from it not being an immediate smash hit?
At one point it was Mantic’s best selling product. The main issue is that the entire first 4 waves were Kickstarter-funded and have been available for almost 4 years now. Then with Wave 5 Mantic didn’t market it quite as aggressively, and removed minis content from the retail boosters, and increased the retail prices slightly. Then the Call To Arms release (which was all pre-existing models) got pushed aside last summer and eclipsed by other product. The trajectory seems to be a downward arrow on the graph.
I still do not think the sculpts are great but those scenery renders are very solid.
Looking forward to these and the modern terrain crate is well cool. Hyped for Mantics TWD range
