Mantic Update Their Warpath Alpha Rules – Download Here!
September 18, 2015 by brennon
Mantic Games have updated their Warpath Alpha Rules with a few tweaks here and there. They are now asking you to head on over and download the rules then give them a go, reporting back via the forums with your thoughts...
This new version of the rules brings up some interesting ideas that you don't normally see in 28mm Sci-Fi games. One of these is the idea of Unit Hubs which would be more well known as stands which hold a complete squad. Think Dropzone Commander, most 15/10mm games of any genre, and of course the likes of Kings of War with regiment trays.
They are testing out this idea as something going forward for Warpath making the game quicker. With Firefight allowing for individual model placement and removable the 'Unit Hubs' are back for Warpath.
Note that the image above also shows off the awesome 28mm plastic Forge Fathers which are looking very good indeed!
Let us know what you think of their changes.

feel bad I skipped right to the plague army list
space rats different.
Sorry but hubs or stands in 28mm is dumb. Pass.
Is it? Hubs/stands would work great in Apocalypse games.
Wow. Apparently thinking that something could be good in a particular situation warrants a downvote. Who new?

yup. pitching Warpath at the size of Epic or of Apocalypse makes sense, and for games of that scope unit activation makes for a much better mechanic than individual grunts. Firefight looks like an analogue for 40k size games, in which case individuals still have a relevance.
