Mantic Discuss Plans For The Revival Of The Walking Dead
January 2, 2024 by brennon
Mantic Games recently discussed some of the plans that they have for The Walking Dead: All Out War and the revival of the game as we move into 2024. They started with what options you have for getting stuck back in.

If you're a new player then there will be three ways for you to get started in The Walking Dead. The first will be the Collector's Set which will have everything you need. Rules, miniatures, terrain and more will be included. The Essentials Box is the second boxed option and will just come with rules, dice and tokens if you've already got some miniatures in mind.
Lastly, there will also be the All Out War Anthology which will feature all of the rules and expansion content that you'll want to get started.
All as well as getting stuck into the game as a new player, returning players will also have some fun new options to consider. There will be a focus on The Commonwealth and new storylines exploring different territories, new challenges and more.

This roadmap gives you a good idea of when you'll be able to get your hands on all of the goodness for The Walking Dead. There will also be digital support as part of the Mantic Companion where you'll be able to track your collection.
The Walking Dead: All Out War is one of those games that I missed out on and so I am happy to see it returning in 2024.
Will you be diving in?

I think the Anthology at a minimum for me. And maybe a spring clean challenge to get ready for it
Hopefully a more economical and efficient packaging of their product to keep it affordable and profitable at the same time. The old, expensive 3 minis at a time model didn’t take long to exceed my interest.
Have the rules stayed the same or have they been updated/tweaked to a 1.5 or 2nd ed rule set ?
