What Manner of Monster Have Scibor Molded?
May 21, 2014 by dracs
Scibor Monstrous got their hands on a bit of plasticine and have sculpted it into this fantastic hound-like creature.
It's a bit of an odd beasty, with a body like a malnourished grey hound and a head and neck like a half rotted dragon. One person has suggested it could be a Hound of Tindalos from the Cthulhu Mythos, something which I think could be an awesome addition to Scibor's range of Lovecraftian minis should they cast it up.
Just what do you think this little doggy is?

the back looks like they’ve left a space for a rider depending on how big it is
Barghest ?
Now that would be cool. I grew up in the middle of the East Anglian fenlands, stories of Black Shuck used to scare the crap out of me as a kid.
W T F.
Why do you say that ? It’s a gorgeous WIP.
It looks glorious! The face is very well done. If I would meet this beast in a dark alley way I’d poop my pants. And then I’d prolly die.
Chupacabra, perhaps? Not the mythical one, but maybe the actual doglike creature that has been documented. Very cool.
By “Doglike creature”, I assume you mean the “dogs” (if we’re going to use its accurate designation)… it’s just wild dogs attacking goats, nothing mysterious about that.
They’re not quite dogs, according to the genetic testing they did on a few recent corpses. Related to dogs, certainly, but a few differences. DNA was actually closer to coyotes. Cool cryptid, whatever it’s pedigree.
Source, or it didn’t happen… Reputable, or several different sources, please, otherwise not going to be believable, and I’ll stick with mangy dog/coyote attacks (and not some new breed of vampire dog, or drunken testimonies of reptilian creatures).
These critters have apparently been migrating north from Mexico, and as every Texan owns a gun, a pick-up, and a camera (cell phone), it was inevitable that they would be be shot, run over, and filmed. There’s footage out there, and Discovery has aired several features (sensationalized of course). I was simply making a visual comparison to corpses and video’s I’ve seen.
I may be mistaken but isn’t this a gaming site? I don’t see ‘Cryptid Zoological Society’ anywhere in the banner.
I asusme by “Cryptid zoology” you mean “zoology” ?
I’m sorry, I live in the real world, with real scientifiic specialities… 🙂
No it don’t it may look better when it’s finished but the body looks like a indistinct blob at the moment.
Elmoranzo: Why are you attacking me? I was making a reference to a creature I’ve seen in video and stills that is purported to exist, as compared to the silly drunken descriptions you quoted. I was making a visual comparison. I don’t understand your angst. Why are you so angry? I’ve done nothing to you.
My point: the sculpt looks like creatures I’ve seen in video and stills. Don’t you work for Beasts of War? I was under the impression that this was a site where opinions were valued. Stop harassing me, please.
