Games Workshop has shown off the newest boxed set coming to Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. Arcane Cataclysm sees the Lumineth Realm-lords clashing with the Disciples Of Tzeentch within the realm of Hysh.

This new set comes with a bunch of pre-released plastic miniatures for both armies alongside two new plastic characters to lead the way. We'll start off with the Lumineth Realm-lords who get themselves the magical and martial might of the Scinari Enlightener.
Scinari Enlightener // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This powerful new mage for the Lumineth uses both symmetry and symbolism in order to defeat their foes. She comes armed with her magical staff and the sword on her back for when things get up close and personal. I like the unhelmeted version of the miniature here with the long hair flowing down her back. I think it looks a lot more dynamic and you get a better sense of the character.
Alongside the Enlightener, there are also a bunch of plastic kits. Charging into battle we have the Vanari Dawnriders.

Additional units come in the form of classic swordsmen and archers to help complete an Elven/Aelven triumvirate.
Vanari Bladelords // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Vanari Auralan Sentinels // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
If you were a fan of the High Elves back in Warhammer Fantasy Battles then this offers up your more classic-looking Aelves in their new Mortal Realms form. You have your "Silver Helms" and your "Swordmasters Of Hoeth" alongside your classic Elf archers.
I think I've slowly been coming around to the aesthetic of the Lumineth Realm-lords. I'm still not sold on the helmets but I like that they've got that haughty look and feel of the old Warhammer Elves, especially now they are under the command of Teclis.
The Forces Of Chaos
On the other side of things, we have the Disciples Of Tzeentch. They are led by a new miniature representing an old Chaos classic. See what you make of The Changeling.
The Curseling // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
An awesome new miniature that makes it pretty tempting to dive back in and pick up the followers of Tzeentch as an army of choice. I like the style of the armour and the way that the creepy daemon has been wrapped around the mortal warrior. I also think that impressive magical weapon looks like it would be fun to paint. It's also an interesting mirror of the Scinari Enlightener with the blade and staff combo.
Fighting alongside this powerful sorcerer, we also have some returning miniatures. The elite choice comes in the form of the Tzaangor Enlightened.

Making up the bulk of the force is a band of the daemonic Tzaangors. You can also take control of the battlefield with the Kairic Acolytes.

This is a pretty fun army to paint if you'd like to play around with some bright and vibrant colours. I would have a go at replacing the regular flesh though when it comes to the normal Acolytes. I think it would be fun to do that in a contrasting orange or red perhaps to give the appearance of a summoned force of allies.
Are you tempted to pick up this set when it comes up for pre-order?

New models look really nice.
Today on “loony Lumineth”: how much easy to break stuff can we put on top of helmets?
Ok, the Tzaangors are cool; high elves: fools.
I would only play WH if it was WH again and AoS took the flush it needs.
I literally (yes, literally) don’t know one person who has played since the Naming of Vowel Redundant Times.
Maybe if GW realized it ruined its flagship game, they could their stores “40,000: the Questioning” instead of a game I remember.
No, I’m barely sad WH died. Not at all…
It’s really not healthy to still be this bitter after so long. Some folks actually like AoS, I’m not sure why you’d wish the same painful experience on them as WHFB-ers experienced, it’s not their fault that GW put the screens up around WHFB…
The Tzaangor bird men look brilliant looking.
Not really a fan of the Lumineth since they still look like a pain to paint, but it’s awesome to see the Curseling returning with a brand-new model, since he was a pretty big character in WHFB End Times.
And a really nice model it is.
I do like the Lumineth and I say they are paintable but the bigger danger is breaking stuff, have you seen the guys with spears. The spears are so thin and long.
