Mace Face’s Hornblower 15mm Shieldmaidens Coming Soon
August 6, 2024 by brennon
North Star Military Figures are going to be bringing a new 15mm range into the fold soon from Mace Face Miniatures. The Hornblower range is going to be kicking off with a series of 15mm Barbarian Shieldmaidens (and not a Napoleonic sailor).
15mm Barbarian Shieldmaidens // Hornblower
This range of very nicely detailed Barbarian Shieldmaidens are going to be the first part of the Hornblower range. They come with plenty of hand weapons and shields, spears and bows so you've got everything you need to build a warband seeking to ravage civilised lands.

Mace Face Miniatures has explained that the collection has been designed to be compatible with the Copplestone Castings Barbarica range so if you've got your hands on some of those miniatures already, these would be a good fit.
If you're interested in learning more about Mace Face Miniatures, you can see what they've been up to on Facebook and over on Instagram.
Do you think you could be tempted by these fearsome Shieldmaidens?

those look nice
Nice.

I’m looking at these and thinking “you could easily do Oathmark on the cheap with 15mm figures here”. Although at first glance with the style of photo and background used (probably due to them being done by Northstar), I DID think they were a new release for the Wigwaf range of 10mm figures 😀
Don’t you think removing 15mm minis individually is worse than removing single 28mm minis in Oathmark and other games with miniature removal?
I don’t think Oathmark is a bad game, but counting ranks and removing single miniatures is not for me – especially in 15mm! 🙂
Put em on pennies and buy a sabot 20 figure base from Warbases (£2.40 for a 5X4 Regiment tray) and you’re done. No need to worry about Frontages for Oathmark as long as you make it consistent for all armies. And if you can’t count up to four for the rank bonus, then I don’t think there’s much hope for any of us Wargamers 😀 They also do 2p Regimental sabot bases (£1.70 for a 5X2 tray), so that’s the Cav sorted out. Was also thinking your could use the Copplestone Pict figures as proxy Goblins (then you would need… Read more »
