Luke Clashes With Vader In New Star Wars: Legion Operative Sets
July 22, 2019 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have turned to Return Of The Jedi for their latest Star Wars: Legion preview. This time around Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader have been let off the chain with their new Operative expansions.
The first of these sets is for Luke who is no longer the fledgeling Jedi he once was. This Luke is one who has honed his skills in The Force and now fights with all of the deadliness of a Master. This is reflected in not only his stats but also his Command cards too which make him a deadly hunter of both enemy units and of course their leaders.
As you'll have no doubt noticed, this version of Luke is done up in his outfit from the end of the trilogy where he is facing down Vader in that climactic battle.
Vader Unleashed
Talking of Darth Vader, the Operative Expansion for him also brings us a brutal and fearsome version of Vader who makes all cower before him.
Much like with Luke's new set, Vader comes with upgraded statistics and all-new Command Cards. He can also just actually cause fear to quake through the ranks of your enemies simply by being on the field of battle.
I am reminded of the vision we had of Vader at the end of Rogue One where he is just scything through his enemies with ease. That is the Vader that I see here in this set.
Making them Operatives means that you can start to play around with the way you build your force. No longer do these characters have to worry about commanding your forces and instead they can pursue their own agendas in battle.
What do you make of the new models?

I don’t play the game their fabulous looking figures all the same
impressive…..most impressive
they forgot to paint the white lining showing on Luke, tsk tsk
Those look really good.
ooooh shineys….
Love them.Having them as Operatives opens games up to so many cinematic take downs from the pair of them,it will make for awesome games.
More commanders or operatives are simply too much, specially if they were already done. I don’t mind about having options, but FFG has got only a limited amount of resources so they won’t design the MUCH needed infantry units or the MUCH needed balanced vehicles or the MUCH needed transports while wasting time and efforts with named models AGAIN…
