Lucid Eye has expanded two of its miniature ranges with new 28mm metal miniatures for both the Maxzans, inspired by Aztec and Mayan culture and the Romans. If you're looking for some Ancient options with a heroic twist then this could be quite neat!

Maxzan Queen Arandura On War Jaguar - Lucid Eye

Maxzan Queen Arandura On War Jaguar // Lucid Eye

The first of the miniatures is the Maxzan Queen Arandura who comes atop a wild War Jaguar. If you're looking for a warrior queen to lead you into battle then this ticks all the boxes. I really like the detail on the queen herself, especially within the headdress and the shield. You could have a lot of fun with colours here.

She is also riding that War Jaguar which can also be picked up separately.

Now you just need to work out how to paint jaguar markings! Get splotchy and you should be on the right track. A nice faded white/yellow would work nicely underneath plus a good brown/black. Has anyone attempted to paint a jaguar before?

Ride With Rome

As well as the new queen, we also have these sets of Roman Cavalry which are now part of The Wars Of The Middle Sea range.

Roman Cavalry I - Lucid Eye

Roman Cavalry II - Lucid Eye

Both of these sets should work nicely with Historical Roman armies as well as those that are a bit more Fantastical in nature. The first set looks a bit like a set of auxiliary outriders and scouts. The second look like the bodyguards of a commander figure within your army.

Both are armed with spears so they can run down their enemies and protect the flanks of your army. This range is looking good as an option for something a bit more skirmish-based when it comes to Ancient wargaming too.

Are you liking these new releases?
