Lock N’ Load Then Join The Galactic Marines Of Icarus Miniatures
March 9, 2015 by brennon
Icarus Miniatures have put together another preview for both their world and the soldiers within it. This time they're looking at the artwork for the Galactic Marines and also the history of them as a fighting force...
"Formed by humanity in 2406 following the first Nexus war, the Galactic Marine Corps was created as a way to have a highly trained, elite force of soldiers that could be deployed to the harshest warzones.
There’s still much controversy over the recruitment age of the marines. Standard enlistment age is 18 for all other services. Almost every year the topic of marine recruitment age is discussed in the galactic council. So far, however, the outstanding success rate of the marines has kept the voters on their side."
...so these guys sounds pretty nuts. Insanely in this world the training to become a Galactic Marine begins at fifteen and they go through such a deadly training routine that the government has to continually step in to make sure that the training isn't fatal!
One of the training missions includes being dropped onto a planet with your squad mates and having to hunt down criminals who have been told that if they captured one of the 'children' they will be set free. Naturally this has led to deaths and more.
You can find out more about the Galactic Marines over on the blog post link above but don't forget you can download the rules for their Sci-Fi game HERE and give them some feedback.
I don't think I want to be a Galactic Marine...
This looks pretty cool
How close is it to Infinity though? (nb have not yet read the rules)
Since the latter i what folks are playing at my LHS if I wanted a sci-fi skirmish game that is what I would go for
These guys are getting too much like the video game destiny now.a couple are just straight copies in my opinion. They might need to change a few things.
